UL Warns of Potentially Hazardous Pressure Cookers

NORTHBROOK, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 8, 2007 -- Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is notifying consumers that the pressure cooker identified below may pose a hazard to users. Distributed by Innova Inc. of Davenport, Iowa, this product does not meet UL's safety requirements.

Name of Product: Innova 8-quart pressure cooker, ULTREX II, Model 11302 C

Units: Unknown quantity

Date of Manufacture: 2003 to 2005

Manufacturer: Tianjin Dongjin Cooking Utensils Company Ltd., Tianjin, China.

Hazard: The pressure cooker's lid can open while its contents are under pressure, allowing the hot contents to be expelled posing a burn hazard to users.


On the product: The bottom of the pressure cooker is stamped with the following information:
