Ultra Compact SAW Filters - Chip Size SAW Devices - for Mobile Communications Systems Are Now Available; World's Smallest With Ultra-Thin 0.5mm Max. Height

In collaboration with Fujitsu Laboratories, Fujitsu Media Devices has developed a range of ultra-compact and ultra-thin SAW filters. Sales of the new filters will commence worldwide on May 10. The filters enable the development of smaller, slimmer, and more advanced mobile phones and other mobile communication devices.

? 1. Ultra-Compact, Slim-Profile

? -- Single Filter: 1.4mm typ. x 1.0mm typ. x 0.5mm max. (Volume
only 37% of previous model)

? -- Dual Filter: 1.8mm typ. x 1.4mm typ. x 0.5mm max. (Volume
only 42% of previous model)

2.0mm typ. x 1.6mm typ. x 0.5mm max. (Volume
only 53% of previous model)

? 2. Metal Sealing Delivers High Reliability

? High reliability at this small size is achieved through the
use of a special mounting structure developed by Fujitsu which
uses a hermetic structure with metal sealing. Not only is this
technique able to withstand re-flow soldering using lead-free
(high-temperature) solder, it also has excellent performance
with respect to mechanical vibration and shock.

? 3. High Performance Including Low Losses

? Insertion loss: 1.4 dB typ.
? Loss in transmission band: 18dB typ.

? 4. Extensive Product Range

? Standard models are available for all major mobile
communication systems.
