UMED Holdings, Inc. Collaborates on Disruptive Technology With University of Texas at Arlington

FORT WORTH, TX--(Marketwire - Sep 20, 2011) - UMED Holdings, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: UMED) (OTCBB: UMED), a Texas corporation that serves as a holding company for emerging companies, today announced it has obtained an exclusive licensing agreement from 1st Resource Group, Inc. (1RG), a Wyoming Corporation, for the commercialization of 1RG's natural gas to synthetic fuel proprietary technology.

In 2009, 1RG entered into a Sponsored Research Agreement with the University of Texas at Arlington to improve the existing and proven Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process for the conversion of natural gas into liquid hydrocarbons, or synthetic fuels. 1RG and the University of Texas at Arlington have improved this process by developing small-scale portable, modular Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) conversion units that can be located next to various existing sources of natural gas. These economic conversion units can produce synthetic fuels, i.e., synthetic jet fuel or a synthetic diesel fuel.

Each conversion unit will create up to 20 professional jobs, produce up to 1,000 barrels of synthetic fuel per day, require no major change in existing infrastructure(s) and yield sulfur-free, clean-burning synthetic fuel(s).

1RG Chairman of the Board F. Conrad Greer says, "This disruptive technology opens new markets in all three segments of the energy business -- downstream (clean synthetic fuels and additives), midstream (anti-flaring and more efficient gathering systems), and upstream (stranded gas field solutions). The advancement of GTL technology, pioneered by 1RG, will increase demand for natural gas producers allowing them to achieve stronger financial performance by converting natural gas to clean synthetic fuels and could lessen our country's dependence on foreign oil."
