Unchained Networks Improve End-to-End Performance by 56%

Best Wireless Network Integration Practices Documented in Aberdeen's Latest Study

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - November 10, 2010) -  Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE: HHS), recently announced availability of its latest research study on the integration of wireless and wireline networks, Unchained: the Wireless Imperative in Network Integration. The study reveals that the Wireless LAN's (WLAN's) essential role in a well-integrated mobile strategy has emerged as a defining characteristic of top-performing organizations.

Over the prior 12-month period, the study found that top performers (as measured across multiple performance criteria) decreased the time required to resolve business problems by 39%, 3.25 times the improvement of all other survey respondents; while they improved application response time over the network by 37%, 28% more than all others. End-to-end WLAN performance improved by 56%, 2.8-times that of all others; while LAN performance improved by 52%, 2.6-times all others.

The study also found that consolidation of WLAN and LAN management from a central location enabled a 'single point of view' of performance and security, an essential element in improving operational efficiency, network throughput, data security, and an improved experience for the end-user.
