UNCLE Credit Union Re-Elects Chung Bothwell as Board Chairman


LIVERMORE, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 30, 2015) - UNCLE Credit Union, serving Alameda, Contra Costa, San Joaquin, and Stanislaus Counties, re-elected Chung Bothwell as Board Chairman for the 2015-2016 term. The election marks Bothwell's seventh year in this critical leadership role. Bothwell has served as a board director for more than twenty years in varied capacities. In partnership with a strong management team and an effective and committed board membership, Bothwell has been a major contributor to the Credit Union's growth from $1 million in assets in 1957 to more than $300 million at present. Moreover, UNCLE has developed an excellent reputation among both its members and the communities it serves.

Along with an advanced law degree and MBA, Bothwell brings more than 32 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning, and business operations to UNCLE's governing board. Bothwell's talent for leadership development and ability to successfully collaborate with all levels within an organization as well as outside groups will also help ensure that the Credit Union is well-positioned to build on the achievements of recent years.

Officers also retaining seats on UNCLE's Board of Directors are Vice Chairman Randy Werner and Secretary Lee Neely. In addition, John Stein, Ph.D., was elected Board Treasurer. Barbara Brooks was also elected the newest member of UNCLE's Supervisory Committee.

Randy Werner, John Stein and Lee Neely have served the Credit Union in various roles during their tenures. Werner has more than 31 years with the organization, having held positions including Chairman, Secretary, and Chairman of the Nominating Committee along with his current seat of Vice Chairman. Both Stein and Neely also bring extensive experience to their roles with previous terms on UNCLE's Board of Directors as well as its Supervisory Committee. With a background in computer science, Neely is also an excellent resource helping to support UNCLE's emergence as an industry leader in safeguarding financial technology infrastructure.

Barbara Brooks, a 25 year member of UNCLE Credit Union, provides more than 15 years of financial experience in her new role on the Supervisory Committee. Currently employed as a financial analyst for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Brooks is an active contributor to the Livermore community.
