UNESCO World Day for Audiovisual Heritage

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 27, 2006) - Today is UNESCO World Day for Audiovisual Heritage and Ian E. Wilson, Librarian and Archivist of Canada invites all Canadians to discover our rich and diverse audiovisual collection.

"Imagine for an instant the thousands of stories to discover in the Library and Archives Canada collection, through the documents, films, sound recordings, music, and radio and television programs," says Mr. Wilson. "These stories are the ones which define who we are as Canadians. We must continue to preserve these stories told through the medium of our audiovisual heritage, for the benefit of future generations."
