MARKETING SUCCESS STARTS WITH U Marks Next Generation for Industry Leader

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - August 12, 2009) - Unica Corporation (NASDAQ: UNCA), the recognized leader in marketing software solutions, today unveiled its new worldwide brand, "MARKETING SUCCESS STARTS WITH U." The brand, which marks the next generation of Unica, is highlighted in new customer-facing corporate and global websites and all marketing and sales materials -- with simplified and more descriptive product and solution names.

As Unica expands into new and emerging markets with innovative interactive marketing solutions in both its enterprise and on-demand product lines, the company concluded that this was the ideal time to update and expand its brand. The resulting effort, designed to emphasize that marketing success is driven by Unica and its customers, encompasses Unica's tagline, corporate mission, logo, content, websites, and more.

The new tagline, "MARKETING SUCCESS STARTS WITH U," is designed to connote what Unica stands for: bringing marketing success to "U" -- Unica's customers. At the same time, it reflects the company's leadership position in developing innovative marketing technology; marketing success starts with the "U" in Unica. The tagline will be further developed in some of Unica's core messages, for example:
