UNICEF's The State of the World's Children 2007 Report Shows Gender Equality Critical to Improved Child Survival and Development

Reports on global status of women and its impact on children

What: On December 11, 2006, UNICEF will release its flagship report The
State of the World's Children 2007 subtitled Women and Children:
the double dividend of gender equality. The report examines the
status of women around the world today in the household, the
workplace and the political sphere. It demonstrates, through global
research, the tangible results of progress toward gender equality,
particularly in regard to its impact on children, and sets out a
roadmap for its achievement.
