Uniformed Firefighters in Central London Protest March

LONDON, ENGLAND--(Marketwire - Sept. 15, 2010) - Uniformed firefighters will march through London tomorrow (Thursday) and protest outside the London Fire Brigade headquarters, in protest at LFB's decision to begin the process of sacking all London firefighters.

The march comes one day before the result of a ballot on industrial action short of a strike is due to be announced.

The London Fire Brigade sacking notice was intended as a means of forcing firefighters to agree new shift patterns which pave the way for reducing fire cover at night.

The firefighters will assemble at the Aldwych at 11.30 am, march over Waterloo Bridge and down The Cut to LFB headquarters in Unions Street.
