Unigen Announces Unique Embedded USB (eUSB Plus) Solutions

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 13, 2013) - Unigen Corporation has announced application specific USB modules in 16GB and higher densities for embedded, networking and industrial applications. These products are designed around a Multi-Format Flash Media Controller which allows read/write capability to eMMC providing a reliable high density media to store code and data. The eMMC integrates MLC NAND Flash and a controller in a single package. The MLC NAND Flash may be programmed fully or partially to SLC mode by the controller, allowing the SLC partition to be used for caching and firmware storage. SLC mode provides a high reliability and higher speed storage medium, improving overall system performance.

This unique eUSB Plus architecture supports other flash media families such as SD, xD, and MS and is a drop-in replacement to industry standard eUSBs. This provides the system designer with flexibility and protection from obsolescence.

The eUSB Plus operates on a 3.3V power supply and is compliant with USB 2.0/3.0, It features high performance throughput of 20MB/s Read, and 10MB/s Write, with low active power consumption of < 50mA. It has wide operating system (OS) support which includes Windows XP/2000/NT/Me/98/98SE, VISTA, Mac OS 9.x and above, Linux Kernel 2.4 and above.
