MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - Jun 20, 2011) - Unimax Systems Corporation®, a leading provider of telecommunications self-service and automated administration software today unveiled a new version of 2nd Nature, its unified voice administration product.
The new version enhances 2nd Nature's already powerful reporting capabilities by enabling an IT or Telecom department to read status information for phones and voice mail boxes. The new version also adds advanced capabilities for automated and self service administration. Additionally, 2nd Nature's ability to manage PBX and voice mail systems in complex, multi-vendor environments has been expanded by adding compatibility for a number of systems from Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, and AVST.
"There is a wealth of valuable information located in the status fields of phones and voice mailboxes," said Teresa Dixon, Unimax Director of Product Management. "However, it is very time consuming and difficult to access, so the status data is simply not retrieved as often as it should be. This inaction comes with a considerable opportunity cost. With 2nd Nature 7.2, status information can be easily read and reported on, even in complex multi-vendor environments. This information can indicate, for example, if a voice mailbox is dormant, if a phone is unregistered, etc. The cost savings potential of having easy and immediate access to this information and leveraging it to make decisions can make a significant budgetary impact."
"The most significant features and enhancements in 2nd Nature 7.2 are those that strengthen our already solid position in the areas of automated and self service PBX and voice mail administration," said Phil Moen, Unimax President and CEO. "In recent years, we have been working hard to provide the technology to meet the increasing market demand to automate routine telecom administration tasks such as on and off-boarding, voice mail list management, etc. At the same time, we have been developing the functionality that enables our customers to push telecom administration tasks such as password resets, speed dial assignments, mailbox preferences, etc. to the end user on a self service basis. Automated and self service administration represents the next big frontier in telecom expense reduction. We have a strong history of successfully implementing this technology in the Fortune 500 and other market segments. The result is significant cost reduction."
2nd Nature 7.2 also builds upon its strength as a true multi-vendor application by adding full management support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager® 7.0, 7.1, and 8.0. Compatibility with Avaya Communication Manager® 6.0 has also been added with support for AVST CallXpress® 7.92 and Nortel Communication Server 1000® 7.5. Unlike other Unified Voice Administration applications, Unimax provides agnostic compatibility with PBX and voice mail systems from the industry's leading enterprise class PBX and voice mail system vendors including Avaya®/Nortel®, Cisco®, AVST®, and others.
