Union Bank President and CEO, Masaaki Tanaka, Addresses TOWN HALL LA

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 1, 2009) - Shedding light on the current economy from a banking perspective, Masaaki Tanaka, President and Chief Executive Officer, UnionBanCal Corporation and Union Bank, NA, will deliver the address "Weathering the Financial Storm" to TOWN HALL Los Angeles on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Tanaka was named CEO of UnionBanCal Corporation in 2007 and also serves as the managing executive officer of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU). Prior to his appointment at Union Bank, Tanaka served as an executive officer of BTMU in Tokyo and as BTMU's general manager, Corporate Planning Division.

UnionBanCal Corporation is a financial holding company with assets of $74 billion and is the 16th largest commercial bank holding company in the US based on assets. Union Bank is California's 5th largest bank by deposits and has 335 banking offices in California, Oregon, and Washington and two international offices.
