Union Paddle & Row Center Splashes Into Town for Summer

New Water Sports Center on Hood Canal Opens Its Doors, Offering Fun for the Whole Family

UNION, WA--(Marketwire - Jul 6, 2011) - Just in time for the summer sun, Union Paddle & Row Center, a brand new water sports facility, is now open in the Alderbrook neighborhood in Union, Wash. The center will offer a fun mix of water activity rentals including the popular stand up paddle boards (SUPs), hydro bikes, sail and pedal kayaks, two types of classic rowing wherries, as well as traditional paddle kayaks.

The center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and by appointment on Monday and Tuesday and during off hours. Hourly rentals start at $20 and for those interested in trying out the popular SUP sport, a free lesson is offered with every rental. There are also membership options, which will allow a member to store their own personal watercraft at the marina, as well as use of any craft in the rental fleet for four hours each month. All members are asked to give back to the center by volunteering one hour of time to help with equipment rentals, teaching or assisting with general organization.

For non-locals looking for more than just a day of watercraft fun, the Alderbrook Resort & Spa is a little more than a mile down SR 106 from Union Paddle & Row Center and can accommodate visitors looking to stay overnight, enjoy a delicious, locally harvested meal, or relax with a luxurious spa treatment or a round of golf.

Union Paddle & Row Center will host an open house on Saturday, July 9th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering free lessons to the public on all the crafts available. For more information and to see all of the watercraft offerings, visit For more information on Alderbrook Resort & Spa, visit
