UnionTown Energy Inc. (UTOG) Accelerates Drilling Program, Applies for Permits to Drill 4 More Wells on Teton River Property

BILLINGS, MT--(Marketwire - Jun 30, 2011) - UnionTown Energy Inc. (OTCBB: UTOG) (PINKSHEETS: UTOG) is pleased to announce that it has applied for permits today from the Montana Oil & Gas Commission, to drill 4 more wells on the Teton River Property. These 4 wells will complete the first phase of the planned and already fully permitted 5-spot pilot project. Drilling of the second Teton well is scheduled to start on July 1, 2011, subject to receiving the required permits.

After reviewing the results from the success of the first Teton well #1a-10, the company has decided to speed up the drilling program for the Teton River Project.

The drilling contractor is skidding the drilling rig to the second offsetting drill location today. The surface casing is expected to be set and ready for drilling to commence as early as Friday, July 1, 2011. Due to the July 4th holiday, the completion of the drilling the second well is scheduled for late next week.

"We expect this second Teton well to contribute significantly to our reservoir modelling," said Darren Stevenson, UnionTown's President and CEO. "After completion we will decide together with our technical team and our reservoir engineering consultants and whether we want to test the 2 wells with steam injection or complete the remaining 4 wells first."

This will be the second well of a planned group of 6 wells to be drilled on the Teton River property. The company anticipates that the well will be drilled vertically to a depth of approximately 2,000 feet targeting the Swift Sandstone Formation and will be one of the 5 spot pilot project wells. A sixth well may be required to be used as water source well to complete the first phase of the pilot project.

The Teton River prospect is an 11,000-acre property located in a known, but underdeveloped, shallow heavy oil province that covers approximately 700,000 square miles in Montana. Previously, heavy oil has been produced on the Teton River Property utilizing steam flooding.
