UniqueAuction.com/The Death of eBay's Monopoly: Funeral Procession to be Held in Times Square

NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 14, 2005) - UniqueAuction.com is thrilled to announce its US launch on Wednesday October 19th, 2005, which will include a funeral procession in Times Square, New York, to mourn the death of eBay as a monopoly.

At 12:00 p.m. a funeral procession for eBay will begin in Central Park, proceed down 7th Avenue, to Rockefeller Center, Broadway, Times Square and back. A eulogy for the monopoly will be delivered every 15 minutes near pivotal points of the procession including Radio City Music Hall, NBC, ABC, Times Square, The NY Times, and The Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Known for its frustrating bidding wars and sometimes low-quality second hand merchandise, the public knew they deserved better than the online auctions that were out there. UniqueAuction, has now come to the rescue. With UniqueAuction the most unique bid wins not the highest-so a brand new car can go for just pennies in someone's pocket if they're the only one to make a certain bid. The concept rests of the foundation that bidding should be entertaining and getting a quality product should be fair and hassle free. At the moment UniqueAuction even has a $100,000,000 trip to the moon being auctioned off-and since it's the most Unique bid that wins, this space trek is available to the mainstream public.

The masterminds behind the company are brothers Arif and Rocky Mirza. Together they have founded several profitable Internet companies including MoonPalace, Weblo, Allainet and iBetx. IBetx, their most successful company, is an online sport betting exchange based in the UK. Since its launch just two years ago it has bloomed into a multi-billion dollar industry leader.

We invite all media and the public to join us for eBay's funeral and the official US launch of UniqueAuction-an online auction company with a twist. Interviews will be provided.

Notes to Editors:

1. UniqueAuction's soft launch in early May 2005 has been well received; thousands of people found an alternative to eBay and won brand new products just for being unique.

2. UniqueAuciton has two types of auctions: Reserved and non-reserved. Non-reserved auctions can be won even if there is only one bidder. Reserve items require a minimum amount of bids before the item is auctioned off.

3. Interviews with existing winners and UniqueAuction executives can be arranged.
