Unite 12 Session Update, Sponsors Announced, Awards Nominees Announced


SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 25, 2012) - Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, today released additional training day, session, and sponsor information for Unite 2012 and announced the finalists for the 2012 Unity Awards.

Unite 2012, held in Amsterdam from August 22-24, will feature over 40 hours of informational sessions and workshops. The Unity Technologies website now includes updated information about sessions and this year's sponsors which include Allegorithmic, Applifier, Autodesk, Adobe, Exit Games, GREE, Intel, Luxology, Mixamo and Face FX, Nvidia, OmniMotion Technology LTD, Playhaven, Qualcomm, SoftLayer, Sony, and Vostopia. Each sponsor will be on hand to provide information and hold sessions designed to teach attendees about the best use of their tools and technology with Unity.

Additionally, the Unity Training Day schedule is now available. Unity Training Day sessions will walk attendees through the game creation process in Unity including the very basics of interface and function, importing and using art assets efficiently, setting up impressive character animation quickly, and taking advantage of the most impressive and critical features within the Unity development platform.

Unity Technologies has also revealed the finalists for this year's Unity Awards that recognize the best productions coming out of the Unity community for the last year. Over 200 projects were entered in this year's awards covering everything from games to educational visualizations. The awards will take place at the spectacular Muziekgebouw concert hall and will be followed immediately by the Unite party with special guest DJ Isis.

Honors will be handed out in eight categories including Best Student Project, Best Visual Experience, Best Technical Achievement, Best Gameplay, Best Serious Game, Best Non-game, Community Choice, and the Golden Cube given out to the best overall project.
