KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwired - Aug 30, 2016) - Unite Private Networks (UPN) and the Shawnee Mission School District announced the completion of a next generation fiber network connecting all 50 school district locations today.
The fiber-optic Ethernet Wide Area Network (EWAN) will connect students, educators, administrators and parents via ultrahigh-speed broadband connections with speeds of 10Gbps to each district location, as well as 10Gbps of Ethernet Internet Access (EIA) district wide.
"The fiber network infrastructure upgrades will provide the Shawnee Mission School District 137 times the capacity of the previous network and exceeds the SETDA bandwidth recommendations for the 2017-2018 school year," said Martin Mueller, Vice President of Strategic Accounts.
