United Community Bank Hall County Opens New Main Office

Renovates Building in Downtown Gainesville

BLAIRSVILLE, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 30, 2005 -- United Community Banks, Inc. (NASDAQ: UCBI) today announced the grand opening of the new de novo bank -- United Community Bank Hall County -- in downtown Gainesville, Georgia.

The newly renovated 14,300 square foot office space at 351 Jesse Jewell Parkway will serve as the main office for Hall County and is supported by three additional banking offices in the Gainesville Market. Since the beginning of May, the employees had worked in a temporary building located across the parking lot from its new office. The new main office will be a full-service bank, including a drive-through lane that will open by the end of 2005.

With the new main office in downtown Gainesville and banking offices in Murrayville, Thompson Bridge Road and Quillian's Corner, United Community Bank now has four offices in Hall County with plans to open another banking office in South Hall County by early-2006.
