United Language Group Announces Doug Bergeron as New Board Member

Financial Technology Veteran, Founder and CEO of Opus Global Joins ULG Board and Investor Group

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - August 12, 2016) - United Language Group (ULG) announced today that former VeriFone CEO, Doug Bergeron, joined the ULG investor group and the board of directors. The board also announced former KJ International Resources CEO, Kristen Giovanis, as President of ULG. These changes underscore ULG's focus on global growth in the language services sector.

Bergeron brings a wealth of experience and strategic guidance to the ULG team. From 2001 to 2013, Bergeron grew VeriFone from under $300 million to $2 billion in revenue, in over 100 countries. His experience growing VeriFone into a successful multinational company is a key asset to the ULG board as they seek to expand ULG's global presence and surpass revenue targets.

Bergeron is also the founder and CEO of Opus Global, a leading provider of SaaS-based compliance solutions, and the Executive Chairman of Hiperos, a compliance platform provider. Bergeron serves on the Council on Foreign Relations, is a five-time delegate to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and frequently appears as a guest speaker on CNBC and Fox Business. As a member of the ULG board of directors, Bergeron will provide guidance and mentorship to ULG executive leadership, with a strategic focus on technology development and growth.

"I'm thrilled that Douglas has joined the ULG board of directors," said Giovanis. "He masterfully builds and scales businesses on a global level, and will provide invaluable guidance to the ULG team. We are so fortunate to have a board member of his caliber leading ULG's advancement in the language services space."

"We're excited about Doug's involvement," said Peter Offenhauser, Chairman of the ULG Board of Directors. "Doug has exceptional business acumen and is fully invested in the success of United Language Group. We're honored to welcome him onto the ULG board."

After the June acquisitions of Merrill Brink International and KJ International Resources, ULG has over $50 million in annual revenue, immediately ranking in the top 25 language service companies worldwide, according to industry analyst Common Sense Advisory. ULG is backed by equity investment firm Northern Pacific Group (NPG), with mezzanine capital from Yukon Partners (Yukon) and Hamilton Lane, as well as senior credit from Bell Capital.
