United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC) Inc. Selects Vontu to Protect Its Intellectual Property

Vontu 7 Data Loss Prevention Suite to Help Leading Global Energy Company Protect Confidential Data

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - July 10, 2007) - Vontu, Inc., the leader in Data Loss Prevention solutions, today announced that USEC Inc. (NYSE: USU), a leading global energy company, has selected Vontu to prevent the loss of intellectual property and protect the confidential information of its customers and employees. USEC plans to use the Vontu 7 suite of data loss prevention solutions to monitor network traffic for confidential data, accurately detect policy violations and proactively prevent data leaks.

"Protecting our intellectual property and our customers' confidential information is critical to our ability to remain competitive in today's global business environment," said David Vordick, CIO, USEC. "Vontu enables us to discover where all of our sensitive data is going, meet regulatory compliance objectives, protect critical assets and maintain quality customer service."

USEC is a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel for commercial nuclear power plants and the only company operating a uranium enrichment facility in the United States. The company selected the Vontu Data Loss Prevention solution, including Vontu Network Monitor and Vontu Network Prevent, to monitor and prevent data loss via outbound communications, better secure its intellectual property and maintain customer trust. Vontu was selected because it had the best solution for protecting USEC's intellectual property in motion, detailed reporting capabilities, proven accuracy at high scale and flexibility to adapt to existing USEC processes and content scanning strategies.

By using Vontu Network Monitor and Vontu Network Prevent, USEC can provide complete protection for data in motion, including the ability to automatically prevent a data breach before it happens. With Vontu 7, USEC can inspect all network communications for confidential data that violates security policies and proactively stop violations via email, web, secure web and FTP. In addition, USEC can conditionally tag and route data to an encryption gateway for secure delivery.

"Vontu meets the data security needs of IP-based companies by safeguarding their business-critical information assets, from customer and employee records to intellectual property," said Steve Roop, vice president of marketing and products at Vontu. "USEC joins a growing list of organizations deploying Vontu 7 to help them demonstrate regulatory compliance and reduce the risk of data loss."
