United Warehouse Company Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Commitment to Principles and Service Key to Long Business Life

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - July 15, 2008) - United Warehouse Company this year celebrates its 60th anniversary of service to the Pacific Northwest. President Tom Herche is "proud of United Warehouse Company's people and sixty year history of service. To grow so much over such a timeframe demonstrates that when we honor commitments to employees and customers, and when those employees and customers return the trust, the result is success."

United began business in 1948, with a warehouse on the shores of Puget Sound and built the warehouse which now serves as corporate headquarters in Seattle, in 1954. Tom Herche acquired the company in 1974, and has led an aggressive expansion in service and scope. Herche Transfer began in 1978 with two trucks and now runs 45 trucks daily on the I-5 corridor between Canada and Oregon. United now operates six warehousing facilities with a total 900,000 sq ft in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR, and owns and operates Alaska Traffic Company, a consolidator and forwarder serving Alaska.

Altogether, United Warehouses and its affiliates employ 145 people in Washington, Oregon and Alaska and serve 180 customer companies. The growth is a success story, reflecting the commitment and dedication of the United team and appreciation of the ever-widening customer base. Twenty-five employees have worked at United for more than fifteen years, and many customers have entrusted their product distribution to United for more than twenty years.
