Universal Detection Technology Initiates Marketing of Anti-MRSA Products Approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, EPA

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - February 28, 2008) - Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com) (OTCBB: UDTT) (FRANKFURT: PO8), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats and provider of counter-terrorism consulting and training services, announced today that it has inked a deal to market a line of Anti-Microbial Products approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Product is designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus (MRSA), E.coli, Norovirus, and Salmonella.

MRSA is usually transmitted by direct skin-to-skin contact or contact with shared items or surfaces that have come into contact with someone else's infection (e.g., towels, used bandages). There has been an increase in the spread of MRSA infections in the past few years and the recent death of a student at Western Washington University is very alarming as the student was without history of hospitalization, surgery, dialysis, or residency in a long-term care facility in the past year. This phenomenon, referred to as community-acquired MRSA or CA-MRSA, is responsible for an increasing number of infections and fatalities.

Removing mold, mildew and bacteria can involve strong chemicals that can trigger health problems. UDTT's new line of anti-MRSA product, Vital Oxide, controls mold and bacteria by oxidizing instead of bleaching it. It is so mild you can wash your hands with it but tough on mold and bacteria anywhere you find it, in your home, office, school or church. In recent tests, Vital Oxide kept mold from growing on ceiling tile for 7 months. This EPA registered product is colorless, odorless and will not harm water-safe fabrics. UDTT has also started to supply mini and electrostatic foggers used for professional level sanitizing needs. The Company's electrostatic sprayer is state-of-the-art. Disinfecting large areas and buildings including schools and hospitals of MRSA and other bacteria is significantly easier with UDTT's portable electrostatic sprayer. It disperses billions of nano-sized particles in a magnetized cloud that envelops and adheres to every surface.

"The introduction of the new EPA approved anti-microbial spray and fogger to our product line, augments our current anti-microbial products and services," said Mr. Jacques Tizabi UDTT's Chief Executive Officer. "We will continue to market these products to all venues that are vulnerable to community-acquired MRSA. We expect that having our products EPA-approved will appeal to a larger customer base," he added.
