Universal Detection Technology and Powdersafe Pty Ltd Announce Joint Working Relationship to Unveil Breakthrough System for Isolation and Detection of Harmful Substances

First of Its Kind System Will Allow Facilities Such as Mailrooms to Test Suspicious Powders Without Exposure to Harmful Substances Such as Anthrax

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - December 8, 2010) - Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com) (OTCBB: UNDT), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats, announced today that it has entered into a joint relationship with Powdersafe Pty Ltd., whereby a new breakthrough product has emerged from combination of the two companies' products. The new system will allow facilities such as mailrooms to test suspicious powders, such as suspected anthrax letters, without exposure to harmful substances.

The combination of UNDT's test kits and the Powdersafe Containment system provides a maximum protective field environment in which to conduct real time testing for biological and toxic substances.

The system increases user safety and protects vital forensic evidence. Should further analysis be required after a positive test the Powdersafe Containment system can then be conveyed to the nearest laboratory complete with the UDT test kit.

Universal Detection Technology's biological weapon detection equipment is used extensively by first responders and private industry throughout the country. The equipment, including UNDT's 5 agent biodetection kit, are certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and have been evaluated by the U.S. DoD as well as the United Kingdom military. The UNDT kits are able to detect for the presence of anthrax, ricin, botulinum, Y.Pestis (Plague), and SEB's in as little as 3 minutes.

The Powdersafe Containment system is an Australian Government endorsed security product and is now in use with organizations around the world.
