Universal Republic Records Cues Up Infant Sorrow Record for New Judd Apatow Comedy 'Get Him to the Greek'

Comedian Russell Brand Reprises Role as British Rocker Aldous Snow; Brand-as-Frontman for Hilarious Comeback Band Infant Sorrow Provides the Film's 15 Song Soundtrack

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 19, 2010) -  Universal Republic Records is proud to announce its release of the new INFANT SORROW record, Get Him To The Greek, which also doubles as the soundtrack for the Universal film Get Him To The Greek, scheduled to hit theaters on June 4th. The uproarious album will hit stores the same week as the film's opening on Tuesday, June 1st, and features songs performed by Russell Brand and his alter-ego's band INFANT SORROW. All music from the album has been assembled, written and produced by some of the most talented (we don't know their narcissism quotient) artists, music supervisors, and songwriters working today. Jackie Q also sings on the 15 song album, emblazoned with a delectable array of over-the-top song titles eagerly flagged by Brand-as-Aldous fans as vintage INFANT SORROW, such as "Gang Of Lust," "Bangers, Beans and Mash," "Riding Daphne," and "Supertight," among others. Brand directed the video for the first single, "Just Say Yes," which is available now on iTunes.

The movie reunites Jonah Hill and Russell Brand with Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller in the story of a record company intern, Aaron Green (Hill), with two days to drag an uncooperative, narcissistic rock legend, Aldous Snow (played by Brand) to Hollywood for a comeback concert. The comedy is the latest film from producer Judd Apatow, and also stars Elizabeth Moss, Rose Byrne as singer Jackie Q, and P. Diddy as Hill's record boss, with featured roles and cameos including Pink, Christina Aguilera, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, and more.

Russell sings lead on all the INFANT SORROW songs, with contributors on the album including Jonathan Karp -- premier music supervisor, producer who has helmed soundtracks for Apatow classics such as Superbad, Pineapple Express, and Knocked Up; Lyle Workman -- noted live/studio guitarist, producer, and composer who has worked on Apatow movies 40-Year-Old Virgin and Superbad; UK music star and ex-Pulp member Jarvis Cocker -- who recently contributed to the acclaimed Fantastic Mr. Fox soundtrack; Jason Segel -- star of "How I Met Your Mother," "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," and "I Love You, Man"; and former Libertines alumnus Carl Barat and singer/songwriter Dan Bern. To round out the list of heavy-hitters involved in creating the album, Mike Viola and Judd Apatow also contribute to the soundtrack mayhem.

A special Digital Deluxe version will also be released, featuring four bonus tracks including the riveting "Pound Me In The Buttox," and "F---k Your S---t Up."

About Infant Sorrow
One of the most influential rock bands of the decade, Infant Sorrow churned out a steady string of hit albums that not only reinvigorated the stagnant rock scene of the late 90s but went on to define a generation. Led by notorious front man Aldous Snow, whose scandalous exploits are well documented on both sides of the Atlantic, Infant Sorrow is widely considered the last truly great rock and roll band. This year sees Infant Sorrow and its Rock God singer poised for an explosive return to form, with a new album that drops June 1 and the much-anticipated new movie "Get Him To The Greek" in theaters June 4.
