BALTIMORE, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 22, 2006 -- Universal Communication Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: UCSY), subsidiary Solar Style Inc. announced today that the company has signed an exclusive agreement with a major distributor in South Africa for the exclusive distribution of all Solar Style products, in that country. The agreement includes Solar Style's full range of solar powered devices and chargers.

Mr. Robert Grossman stated, "Following a recent trip to South Africa, we are pleased to have entered into and signed a major agreement with a local South African company. The contract is worth $1 million over a 5-year period. We expect that this agreement will be the first of many we sign in countries around the world. Our products have been well-received globally and we're in the process of rolling out a successful strategy to capitalize on the current market appetite for solar-powered products."

"The Solar Style range of products will benefit a large number of consumers, not only in South Africa but in the whole of Africa. As a developing continent a large percentage of the population does not have continuous access to electricity and these products will enhance their lifestyle," says Glen Macdonald, Director of Ndlovu Technologies (Pty) Ltd.

"We are thrilled to have signed an exclusive agreement with Solar Style as we are extremely impressed with the quality and reliability of the products we have tested."

Solar Style is fast being acknowledged as a world leader in this growing field. The company now offers solar powered personal devices in varying shapes, sizes and colors, including radios, MP3 players and solar powered air purifiers for both car and home use. In addition, the company is now taking orders for The Power Pack, an all encompassing solar charger that can run devices from 3.5 to 24 volts.

About Our Products

The solar chargers give users access to power when they need it, not just when they're near an electrical outlet. This on-the-go power is liberating for the time-constrained, or for those who are truly mobile and don't want to be limited by access to traditional power sources. The solar chargers eliminate the need for carrying additional battery packs and helps streamline what users need to stay powered up during their hectic day-to-day activities. The new chargers are easy on the environment, eliminating the need to carry spare batteries or to use traditional, pollution-inducing, fossil-fuel-created electricity. Since the charger can use any indoor or outdoor light source, they're crucial for emergency, power shortage, rolling blackout or severe weather situations. The solar charger absorbs all light energy -- not just the sun's -- turning it into usable electricity. This electricity is used to charge electronic devices, such as cell phones, PDAs, MP3s, gaming devices and digital cameras.
