CANADIAN CHARITY FUNDS NEW SCHOOLS & TEACHERS WORLDWIDE

Attention: Assignment Editor, Education Editor, Media Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO/ONTARIO/PRESS RELEASE--(Marketwire - Aug. 27, 2007) - The Universal Youth Foundation (UYF) will be hosting the 3rd annual Universal Youth Foundation Ball, to be held on Friday, September 7, 2007. Founded by philanthropist, Mario Cortellucci, the non-profit organization is committed to providing educational assistance to children and youth in need throughout the world by funding schools and teachers.

"On behalf of the Universal Youth Foundation, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our many donors who have made the Foundation's fundraising efforts a resounding success. Through your support, the UYF will enter its third exciting year of helping the world's most vulnerable children and youth to go to school. I would like to invite members of the public to mark September 7, 2007 on your calendars and to please give generously," stated Mario Cortellucci, O. Ont., Founder and Chairman, Universal Youth Foundation.

The Universal Youth Foundation Ball will take place at the Riviera Parque Convention Centre in Vaughan, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Ball, which experienced an overwhelming response of generosity from the public in the past, is the Foundation's main fundraising event.

Recently, the UYF provided funds for the Amani Children's Home in Moshe, Tanzania. The Foundation contributed $256,700 towards the construction of Amani's educational wing and the educational/living expenses of students for a period of seven years. Established as a centre for AIDS orphans and street children, the Amani Children's Home is the Foundation's first approved project for funding. The UYF also funded the formation of a tent school and safe play area for students displaced by the 2005 earthquake that struck northern Pakistan.
