Universal® Releases Ops Brief 2.0 for iPad®; Now Available in App Store

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - Oct 30, 2012) - NBAA -- Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. announced today that it has released version 2.0 of its free iPad® application called Universal Ops Brief, available for download from the Apple App Store. Ops Brief 2.0 allows for the notification, viewing, navigation, downloading, printing, and management of operational briefing packages provisioned by Universal® Trip Support Services and/or UVflightplanner.com. Demos of the app will be available at NBAA at Universal exhibit #2516.

"We give our clients a choice; some still want paper copies of their trip support briefings but we're averaging more than 7,800 briefings per month sent via our app straight to their iPads. That trend will continue upward with the addition of UVflightplanner.com operational briefing packages now included in Ops Brief 2.0."

New features and enhancements included in Ops Brief 2.0 include:

  • Availability of UVflightplanner.com briefing packages - Users can now access UVflightplanner.com flight plan and weather briefings
  • Printing - Users can print their briefings from within the app using Apple AirPrint
  • E-mail Forwarding - Users can forward briefing packages using the default iPad e-mail client
  • Ancillary Document Management - Users can save/recall ancillary trip documents (Flight Summary, Service Confirmations, etc.) to and from a local device
  • "Open In..." - Users can open/upload operational briefing packages within other PDF-compatible iPad apps and services such as GoodReader, iAnnotate, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
