University of Arkansas Architecture, Agriculture, Business, Engineering and Law Students Gain Access to Echo360 Lecture Capture

Institution Enlists Echo360 to Reinforce Classroom Lectures and Power Distance Learning Programs

DULLES, VA--(Marketwire - October 26, 2010) -  Echo360,, the recognized leader in campus-wide solutions that enable universities to record, manage and share rich media course content for lecture capture and distance learning, today announced that the University of Arkansas has signed an enterprise-wide site license agreement for Echo360's lecture capture software and hardware appliances. The University has deployed Echo360 across five schools and colleges including the College of Engineering and the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

The top 100 ranked College of Engineering uses Echo360 to supplement its distance learning program. Lower division mechanical and electrical engineering courses are taught at both the Fayetteville main campus and the Fort Smith campus 55 miles away. Advanced or upper division courses taught only at the Fayetteville campus are recorded using Echo360. Engineering students enrolled at the Fort Smith campus are able to access Echo360 recordings without travelling to the Fayetteville campus, saving them hours of travel time daily.

The Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences was the first college at the University to deploy Echo360 and is now using lecture capture across nearly half of its classrooms. Echo360's seamless integration with an instructor's normal classroom routine, and the ability for students to review lecture material at their convenience have led to Echo360's growing popularity among instructors and students. The College also recently rolled out Echo360's personal capture software, which allows instructors to record and publish lectures from any PC outside of the classroom, turning an instructor's office, home or any other location into an instant educational studio.
