University of Calgary launches new festival to celebrate strength and resilience on campus

A community art project will also be on display at the inaugural UCalgaryStrong Festival

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - April 14, 2015) - The University of Calgary is launching a new festival Wednesday to foster student well-being and resiliency. The inaugural UCalgaryStrong Festival is open to the entire community and takes place in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium and surrounding areas. It will offer a free, family-friendly, end-of-year experience that features an artisan market, live performances at the community café and a quiet reflection space in a contemplative labyrinth. Attendees can also participate in free active living programs offered throughout the afternoon including yoga, Zumba and geocaching.

A community art project known as the Strength Wall will be at the festival for photo opportunities. 

One-on-one interviews will be arranged at the festival site with the people noted below.
