University General Health System, Inc. Acquires Interest in Mainland Ambulatory Surgery Center

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - May 10, 2011) - University General Health System, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: UGHS) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of a minority interest in ASP of Dickinson, LLP (d/b/a Mainland Surgery Center), with an exclusive right to acquire the balance of the equity under certain terms and conditions. The transaction included a Management Services Agreement with UGHS Management Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of University General Health System, Inc. Mainland Surgery Center's revenues in 2010 approximated $1.2 million, and revenues are expected to increase significantly under this new ownership and management structure.
