University Medical Center at Princeton Selects GetWellNetwork

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwire - February 8, 2011) -  GetWellNetwork, Inc. today announced that University Medical Center at Princeton (UMCP), a leading teaching hospital that has been recognized three years in a row as a Top Hospital by The Leapfrog Group, is implementing the GetWellNetwork interactive patient care system to further engage patients and enhance their experiences. UMCP is committed to providing outstanding care and achieving high levels of patient satisfaction. For four consecutive years, UMCP ranked among the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for maternity care services and earned the HealthGrades 2009/2010 Maternity Care Excellence Award™.

The GetWellNetwork system will serve as the digital platform for patients to receive personalized care plans; learn about their condition; communicate with their care team; and prepare for discharge with individualized care instructions and prescription orders. The GetWellNetwork system will also provide entertainment features and access to the internet, enabling patients and families to stay connected throughout their stay.

"The GetWellNetwork system will play a key role in integrating patients more intimately into the care process, giving them greater control over their environment and enabling us to improve the patient experience even as we prepare for the construction of the new hospital," said Dr. Susan Lorenz, Chief Nursing Officer, Princeton HealthCare System.

In addition to its implementation at the current hospital, when UMCP opens the doors in early 2012 to a new state-of-the-art hospital in Plainsboro, the GetWellNetwork system will be incorporated into each of the private patient rooms leveraging new flat screen TVs. The new hospital is being built on the 171-acre medical campus in Plainsboro, just 2.5 miles from the center of Princeton.

"There is a culture of excellence and compassion that runs through the University Medical Center at Princeton. We're honored to bring a new level of patient activation through the GetWellNetwork system and to help guide patients throughout the continuum of care," said Michael O'Neil, CEO and founder of GetWellNetwork, Inc.
