Media availability and Photo opportunity

Media are invited on Tues., Aug. 30, between 10 and noon, to the University of Calgary to view some of the latest in multi-touch applications in advance of the official SurfNet Industry Day Open House taking place later in the week.

One of the items demonstrated is a collaboration between University of Calgary researchers and Sky Hunter Corporation, a local company which has developed a technology that uses a retrofitted aircraft to collect air samples that can indicate oil and gas reservoirs. Media can also view other cutting-edge technologies during this availability.

SurfNet, short for Digital Surface Software Application Network, is a Canadian research alliance made up of academic researchers and partners from industry across the country.
