University of Pennsylvania Again Ranks Fraser Institute as No. 1 Canadian Think-Tank and Among Top 30 in the World

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 24, 2012) - For the fourth consecutive year, the Fraser Institute is ranked as the top think-tank in Canada, and has for the last two years been the only Canadian organization to rank among the top 30 think-tanks worldwide, according to the 2011 Global Go-To Think-Tanks Index published by the University of Pennsylvania.

The annual index, which is based on a survey of more than 1,500 scholars, policy makers, and journalists representing 120 countries, ranked the Fraser Institute first among 97 think-tanks in Canada, and 30th among 6,545 think-tanks from 182 countries overall.

On key measures, the Fraser Institute ranked:

  • Ninth in the world for Health Policy Research
  • Ninth in the world for Social Policy Research
  • 14th in the world for Most Innovative Policy Ideas
  • 14th in the world for Best Use of the Internet or Social Media to Engage the Public
  • 19th in the world for Domestic Economic Policy
  • 21st in the world for Greatest Impact on Public Policy (Global)
