Book: The Real Sexy, Smart and Strong: 30 Tips to Boost Confidence, Inside and Out

Author: David Patchell-Evans, Founder & CEO, GoodLife Fitness

"My life's passion is to connect people all over the world with their success potential. Patch's book confirms just how smart exercise is – for your success and for keeping every part of your life in top condition. A must-read for everyone." - Jack Canfield, co-creator of The Success Principles™ How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be.

David "Patch" Patchell-Evans' story is as unique as it is inspiring. In his latest book, he shares his amazing stories of the three "A's" that have shaped his life. The first A was a terrible motorcycle accident at the age of 19, the second A was the debilitating arthritis he woke up with at 32, and the third A is autism.

When Patch's eldest daughter Kilee was two-and-a-half years old, she started showing marked changes in behaviour and was diagnosed with autism. This is when Patch made the choice not to focus on her condition, but to focus on her potential. He also made the decision to commit himself to finding the cure for autism, so that he can help other families who are facing the same challenging path.

In meeting life's challenges head-on, exercise has been the keystone in Patch's entire life that has allowed him to get better and stronger physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Through his book, he is passionate about bringing exercise into everyone's life. The Real Sexy, Smart and Strong shows how easy it is to incorporate physical activity into daily life, how to get motivated to make that first step and the transformational benefits you will receive by making exercise a part of your everyday life. He is also donating 100% of the book's proceeds to a world-class autism research team.

Patch shows readers:

  • How exercise will improve everything from your sex life to your job performance
  • How to choose a gym
  • How to lose your self-consciousness about exercising (hint: nobody is looking at you!)
  • The ins and outs of stretching, weight training and cardio
  • How to overcome hidden sources of discouragement
  • Why exercise is a form of self-respect
  • Why junk food can make us dumber
  • Why "good enough is good enough", and how you can use this mantra to stay motivated
  • Why "no pain, no gain" is a myth

If you want to experience higher levels of energy; have a body that is physically stronger; increase your confidence and enrich EVERY aspect of your life; and learn how to stay motivated to exercise for the REST OF YOUR LIFE, you need to read Patch's book.

Today is YOUR day to take action and become sexy, smart, and strong for life. This amazing book will get results for you in your health, your vitality, your energy, and your confidence! And you will be participating in a great cause to make the world better for millions of children.

The Kilee Patchell-Evans Autism Research Group

Today one in every 91 children in Canada is diagnosed with autism. Autistic children often exist in a world of isolation, unable to relate to the people around them or enjoy the routines we all take for granted for our children—going to school, playing with friends, telling their parents they love them.

But there is hope! The Kilee Patchell-Evans Autism Research Group, under the direction of Dr. Derrick MacFabe was founded in 2003 with funding provided by David Patchell-Evans. Now that commitment has grown to a personal donation of over $3 million. The team continues to unfold important new findings that are receiving global attention. Recognized by the Canadian Medical Association in 2007 with its Medal of Honour, David Patchell-Evans and Dr. MacFabe continue to build collaborations between scientists and concerned citizens around the world.

Patch's goal is to make this book an unparalleled success because 100% of the proceeds from his book will be donated to a world-class autism research team, being hailed internationally for their ground-breaking work. Several major universities world-wide are collaborating in this research. As the parent of an autistic child, Patch is putting his faith in this scientific research that is on the trail of discovering the cause and cure for this devastating condition, affecting 1 in every 91 children worldwide.

Additional Information

Patch's book deals with the excuses that cause us to procrastinate about exercise.

6 Excuses for Not Exercising – and How to Get Over Them

  1. I don't have the energy.
Guess what? Exercising gives you more energy. Your lack of energy is likely because you are not active, not the other way around.
  1. I'll hurt myself
If you've been inactive for a while, start slowly and build up gradually. It's not necessary to jump into things that are beyond your capability. Regular exercise strengthens your muscles and bones, so the more you exercise, the less likely you are to get hurt.
  1. I have to be so dedicated – it takes a lot of willpower.
It doesn't. All you need is 30 minutes, three times a week. This can get you to 95% of your maximum fitness within six months.
  1. I can't afford expensive exercise equipment.
You don't need any. Many exercises do not require special equipment. Some activities, such as walking or running, don't require anything other than a good pair of shoes and comfortable clothing.
  1. I don't look good in shorts.
Then don't wear them! You can exercise wearing sweatpants and other loose-fitting clothes.
  1. I'll start tomorrow.
Ah yes, but tomorrow never comes, does it? There is only today.
