Unveiling of the 2012 Stars' Christmas Trees: Look for Your Favourites!

MONTREAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 16, 2012) - Celebrating the return of the most animated media event in town! Like every year, Old Montreal's Extravaganza starts with the Stars' Christmas Trees event. This media opportunity allows guest personalities and the media to meet for a few pictures. Organizers of the annual Stars' Christmas Trees event extend their invitation to the young and old alike at the Vieux-Montréal hall located at Marché Bonsecours on Monday, November 26, starting at 11:00 a.m. The stars of the 2012 edition will finish decorating their trees just in time for your arrival. For the occasion, Marché Bonsecours will enliven the atmosphere with the presence of Santa Claus, fabled figures and some favourite Holiday treats. The complete program schedule of activities will also be announced publicly at the same occasion.

Boasting an array of free family activities, the 9th edition of Old Montreal's Extravaganza will take place from December 14th, 2012, to January 5th, 2013, thus offering numerous visitors and tourists to brighten their Holiday season by visiting the old part of the town. For the 5th consecutive year, the program schedule will feature the Christmas Trees' Exhibition, to which over fifty Quebec personalities have participated since 2008. The exhibition will be opened to the public as of Friday, December 14th, and will adorn the various isles of Marché Bonsecours until Saturday, January 5th, 2013. At the end of the event, ornaments will be donated to the "Les petits frères" charitable organization for distribution or resale in support of the cause.

New additions to the Stars' Christmas Trees participant list will include: Jean-Charles Lajoie, Marc Hervieux, Charles-Emmanuel Pariseau, Marc Beaupré, Denise Robert, RDS 5@7 show team and many other personalities!

Back this year - The International Village of Holiday Traditions

More captivating and exotic than ever, the parvis at Marché Bonsecours will host a dozen of pavilions in December, offering its visitors the opportunity to discover foreign lands. The site will boast the presence of Austria, Germany, Russia, Belgium and France, in addition to the maple country, some Métiers d'arts craftspersons, a candy maker and a a fine coffee merchant. This event is sure to satisfy all your senses. Loyal to the tradition of European markets, small chalets and their unique style will illuminate St-Paul Street like never before!

The perfect place to discover an array of Holiday traditions, a variety of gourmet products, regional specialties to be sampled and and loads of exhibits and workshops from here and abroad!
