However, to obtain a special ballot voting kit more quickly, it is highly recommended that electors visit the local Elections Canada office before 6:00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, September 11, 2007.

"We have taken steps to respond as quickly as possible to the demand for last-minute registration," said Mr. Mayrand. "We ask these electors to watch for the arrival of the voting kit in the mail so that they, in turn, can deal with it as quickly as possible."

An elector away from Outremont, Roberval-Lac-Saint-Jean or Saint-Hyacinthe-Bagot must ensure that the completed ballot arrives at Elections Canada in Ottawa by 6:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on election day, Monday, September 17. An elector voting by special ballot in Outremont, Roberval-Lac-Saint-Jean or Saint-Hyacinthe-Bagot must ensure that the returning officer receives the completed ballot before the local polling stations close at 8:30 p.m. (local time) on election day.
