Update: Form I-9 Compliance, LLC. Announces New Service to Offer Seamless, Paper to Electronic Form I-9 and E-Verify Solutions for Government Contractors

Service Allows Federal Contractors to Comply With Executive Order 12989 Requiring Verification of Employee Eligibility to Work in the United States for Contracts Awarded After January 15, 2009

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - December 11, 2008) - Form I-9 Compliance, a leading provider of software and service based solutions for responding to the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act requiring employers to conduct right to work Form I-9 employment verification on new employees, announces a new capability that enables Federal Contractors to comply with Executive order 12989 without having to manually enter employee data and submit queries one by one; potentially saving employers thousands of hours of labor in the administration of the executive order.

Effective January 15, 2009, Federal Contractors who enter into contracts in excess of $100,000 per year will be required to begin using the E-Verify system to verify the eligibility of employees hired after November 6, 1986, to legally work in the United States. In a final rule published in the Federal Register, the Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council amended the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to reflect this change. The amended Executive Order reinforces the policy first announced under President Clinton, that the federal government only does business with companies that have a legal workforce.

The new rule requires federal contractors to agree, through language inserted into their federal contracts, to use E-Verify to confirm the employment eligibility of all persons HIRED during a contract term and to confirm the employment eligibility of CURRENT employees who perform contract services for the federal government within the United States.

The Executive Order calls for an initial 30 day compliance window. This narrow window will not provide enough time to build E-Verify solutions into the business processes of large organizations. The Form I-9 Compliance Solution employs a document Scanning, Indexing and an optional Audit process to seamlessly integrate existing systems with the company's Electronic Form I-9 and E-Verify services on a timely and cost effective basis.

In commenting on the significant growth Form I-9 Compliance has experienced in the last year, Mr. John M. Hermann, the company's CEO, stated that, "To our knowledge, our firm is the only company in the United States that focuses exclusively on the I-9 Form and related processes. Whether it is our web-based electronic I-9 Form, seamless integration with E-Verify, semi-automated I-9 Auditing processes, 'No Match' verification through the Social Security Verification Service (SSNVS) and now our unprecedented document scanning and indexing capabilities, our support for federal contractors and the leveraging of technology to deliver these services seamlessly is unparalleled in our market niche."
