UPDATE - Ticket Prices for Toronto's NBA All-Star Game up More Than 150% Over Last Year

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwired - Feb 8, 2016) - The 2016 NBA All-Star Game is a special one. Not only is it the 65th edition of the exhibition game, it's also being held outside of the United States for the first time in NBA history. Taking place at the Air Canada Centre in basketball-crazy Toronto, ticket prices are soaring, with the average ticket price 173% above last year's prices ($1,588 to $4,340 USD) on

Unlike last year's NBA All-Star Game, Canadian residents are responsible for the majority of ticket purchases, with 70% of ticket orders coming from Canada, this year, compared to just 2% in 2015. The sales map below shows that, unlike last's year game at Madison Square Garden, when sales came from across the country, sales of All-Star Game tickets for the game in Toronto are concentrated primarily in Canada and on the East Coast.

"In basketball circles, the Toronto Raptors are well known to have one of the most dedicated fan-bases in the NBA, so it's no surprise that tickets sales for the first-ever Canadian-hosted NBA All-Star Game are as high as they are," says Andres Hidalgo, Sports Specialist. "If prior years are any indication, fans attending the game and weekend festivities can expect an unforgettable evening."

Grammy Award-winning musician, Sting will headline the half time show. It's also confirmed that Drake will be coaching Team Canada in the All Star Celebrity Game against opposing coach, Kevin Hart. Many artists including Justin Bieber, 2 Chainz, Tory Lanez, Yo Gotti, and Dej Loaf will perform at after parties in Toronto that weekend.

Eastern Conference All-Star players include the Raptor's own Kyle Lowry (646,441 votes), Dwayne Wade (941,466 votes), Paul George (711,595 votes), Carmelo Anthony (567,340 votes), and LeBron James (1,089,206 votes).
