U.S. Air Force Considering the Installation of Small Nuclear Reactors Across the Globe, an Industrial Info News Alert
SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - March 20, 2008) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources
(Sugar Land, Texas) -- The U.S. Air Force is interested in hosting a small
nuclear-powered reactor designed for electrical power generation at one of
its facilities and will issue a letter of intent to do so this fall. The
plan is to be able to install these reactors on bases around the world to
be able to run operations off the grid in case a terrorist attack cuts
power, as well as to lower the Air Force's carbon footprint.
