Mayors to Hold Press Conference to Highlight USCM Bi-Partisan Urban Agenda

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - July 21, 2016) - USCM Vice President New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, USCM 2nd Vice President Columbia (SC) Mayor Steve Benjamin and USCM Immediate Past President Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will attend the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia from Monday, July 25 to Thursday, July 28, 2016.

On Tuesday, July 26, the mayors will attend a USCM-sponsored luncheon and hold a PRESS CONFERENCE to highlight the Mayors' Compact for a Better America: A Call to Action, which calls on the Presidential candidates to recognize the critical role cities play in shaping America's future and to focus on policy issues important to people living in cities and their metropolitan areas.

On the heels of tragic events involving gun violence in three American cities, Mayors will stress the importance of INVESTING in and PROTECTING cities and their metropolitan areas.
