U.S. Congressman Ron Klein Introduces Cyclone at Energy Independence Press Conference

POMPANO BEACH, FL--(Marketwire - July 8, 2008) - Cyclone Power Technologies' (PINKSHEETS: CYPW) CEO Harry Schoell spoke Thursday at a press conference called by Rep. Ron Klein (D-FL) to announce the U.S. Congressman's bold initiative towards American Energy Independence.

Rep. Klein presented a five-point plan to "bring-down gas prices in the short term and break our national addiction to oil in the long term." Among those solutions, Rep. Klein promoted greater investments in cutting edge research to develop affordable energy.

"It is time for real investment in scientists and businesses who are developing and commercializing the next generation of energy sources," stated the Congressman in his release. Cyclone's eco-friendly, multi-fuel capable engine was presented at the event as an example of such cutting edge technologies.

In response to the Congressman's proposals, Mr. Schoell thanked Rep. Klein for his initiative and foresight, and added: "Investments in alternative fuels are a critical step towards breaking our country's dependence on foreign oil; however, I caution the government against half-way action. Equal investments must be made to develop the engines that can run those fuels most cost-efficiently. Today's gas and diesel engines are not the solution -- the Cyclone Engine is."

The award-winning Cyclone Engine is a modern day steam engine, capable of running efficiently on virtually any fuel source. Over the last year, the company has successfully run the Cyclone Engine on dozens of different bio-fuels and synthetic gas alternatives, including fuels derived from algae and other inexpensive, renewable sources that do not eat into the world's food supply.

Cyclone Power Technologies is the developer of the award-winning Cyclone Engine -- an eco-friendly external combustion engine with the power and versatility to run everything from hand-held electric generators and garden equipment to cars, trucks and locomotives. Invented by company founder and CEO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is a modern day steam engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel -- including bio-diesels, syngas or solar -- while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air. Currently in its late stages of development, the Cyclone Engine was recognized by Popular Science Magazine as the Invention of the Year for 2008, and was presented with the Society of Automotive Engineers' AEI Tech Award in 2006 and 2008. Additionally, Cyclone was recently named Environmental Business of the Year by the Broward County Environmental Protection Department. For more information, visit
