U.S. Department of Homeland Security Approves Visiphor-Based Data Management Registry

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 9, 2005) - Visiphor Corporation ("Visiphor")(OTCBB:VISRF)(TSX VENTURE:VIS)(DE:IGYA) a provider of advanced data integration solutions, is announcing that a groundbreaking project with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has now successfully passed all acceptance requirements and tests, and has been approved for expanded use.

Visiphor has provided the tools and expertise to allow the DHS Enterprise Data Management Office (EDMO) to implement and test a Metadata (data about data) Registry and Repository. The system, referred to as the dhsMRR, supports the categorization and sharing of disparate data located in numerous systems spread across the DHS infrastructure. The technology empowers DHS to see where data is located and how to access and use it.

The U.S. Government originally selected Visiphor's products for the dhsMRR project because of the company's ability to deliver both metadata and federated query technologies in a single source solution. Visiphor is also engaged with the DHS on the Arizona Border Control Initiative, a seed project being overseen by the DHS Science and Technology Directorate, to offer new and streamlined accessibility to border control data.

"Our company's products and thought leadership for data integration are getting noticed by decision makers within key US Federal Government Agencies," said Visiphor President and CEO Roy Trivett. "I want to reiterate that Visiphor's timing with this technology in the current marketplace is perfect. We believe that this is just the beginning of our company's foray into large scale data integration opportunities within both government and the large enterprise private sector."

Visiphor personnel are actively involved in helping to develop and modify data exchange standards, such as the Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM) and the NIEM (National Information Exchange Model). The company is on the forefront of the development and deployment of new technologies for disparate data integration and information sharing.
