US Federal Contractor Registration: Apply for the DAPA (Distribution and Pricing Agreement) Registration in 2015

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - May 27, 2015) - US Federal Contractor Registration is encouraging businesses to become registered in the DAPA Registration in order to sell pharmaceutical and medical products to contracting officers at DLA Troop Support. GovernmentContractingTips.com just released a brand new free downloadable packet that walks a contractor through the entire process on how to register in the Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) Registration. Contractors can visit the following link to download the DAPA Registration and learn more about the entire process: http://governmentcontractingtips.com/dapa/. Please note, businesses must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) prior to enrollment in the DAPA Registration.

According to the Department of Defense, as part of the Prime Vendor Program, Distribution and Pricing Agreements (DAPA) are established with pharmaceutical and medical/surgical manufacturers and distributors. Under the DAPA, the agreement holder consents to allow the prime vendor to distribute its products to the ordering facilities and agrees that the prime vendor will be charged the same price as established in the agreement. Currently, there are approximately 29,000 items on DAPA for pharmaceutical items and approximately 118,000 items on DAPA for medical/surgical items.

DAPA is an agreement between DLA Troop Support and the manufacturers/suppliers of the MSPV Program. The DAPA establishes both the selling price of products and the authority to allow DLA Troop Support's PVs to distribute a DAPA-Holder's products to DLA Troop Support's military and other federal customers.

This program was developed to enable PREPACs suppliers to provide their products at competitive prices through the PV. Each PREPAC contains all preselected supplies required for a specific medical procedure (excluding pharmaceuticals) in a "single bag". PREPACs may only be ordered by the MTF for which it has been designed. These DAPAs are for Medical Equipment that are durable, repairable, portable, and/or often require some type of power source (i.e. battery, electricity, etc.). They do not include capital equipment. These products include but are not limited to infusion pumps, suction apparatus, pulse dosimeters, exam tables, hospital carts, etc…
