US Navy Awards Contract to Foresight Science & Technology for Technology Transfer and Transitioning Support for 11 Navy Laboratories

PROVIDENCE, RI--(Marketwire - June 22, 2009) - The US Navy is pioneering the use of cost-saving web-based services with a contract to Foresight Science & Technology Incorporated (Providence, RI) for T2+2™, Foresight's innovative Technology Transfer Tools and Training™ service. T2+2™ is built around a proven business method for target marketing. It provides all the training, data, and analytical tools needed to implement that method, including on-line chat and other live hands-on support. T2+2™ incorporates over 3000 technology specific market research reports, hundreds of market focused reports, and access to over 100 technology roadmaps with a range of web-based and spreadsheet analytical tools and a number of databases, such as the Pipeline Partners™ database of defense contractors and civilian firms looking for new technology. An e-learning course for novices, K2™ or the Knowhow Knowledgebase™ wiki, and a manual for managers rounds out the service.

In announcing the award Foresight CEO Dr. Phyl Speser said, "Everyone in technology transfer acknowledges targeted marketing is the best way to move technology. Yet everyone bemoans the fact it is hard to do. Through awards from the government's Small Business Innovation Research Program and ONR and a lot of our own internal funding, we have developed a very efficient, fast, and effective method for determining what technologies to move to market and then doing that. T2+2™ represents a new way of doing business model in our profession that combines the economies of information technology with the common sense and judgment of experience. This award validates the model works as well for the defense sector as it does for the civilian sector. As an established defense contractor, we are very excited to be able to add this innovative web-service to our hands-on consulting in technology transfer and transitioning."

Introduced to the market a little over a year ago, T2+2™ is already used by almost 40 customers, including universities and medical centers; the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Department of Transportation, and Department of Energy; and companies and non-profits.
