The U.S. Polo Assn. Brand Celebrates the 125th Anniversary of the Sport of Polo in the U.S.

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - January 06, 2015) - USPA Properties, Inc. announced today the U.S. Polo Assn. brand's 2015 global celebration plans for the 125th anniversary of the United States Polo Association (USPA), the national governing body for the sport. Revenue from the sale of U.S. Polo Assn. merchandise supports a wide range of programs that promote the sport of polo and development of youth players such as Team USPA and the Interscholastic/Intercollegiate Program.

Last September, as a teaser event leading up the 125th anniversary year, U.S. Polo Assn. and the United States Polo Association were the presenting sponsors at the first-ever U.S. Polo Assn. Central Park Polo Challenge. The arena polo match was played in the park's Trump Rink, featuring several young, talented players who are the faces of the U.S. Polo Assn. "Live Authentically" campaign. It was a very exciting event, as the sport returned to its roots in New York City, back to where it all began.

To celebrate the 125th anniversary year, the U.S. Polo Assn. brand has established a number of commemorative programs and events for 2015. Exclusive and limited edition 125th anniversary collections will be available at U.S. Polo Assn. stores and online around the world. Included in select retail locations will be a limited edition t-shirt with a special 125th anniversary logo created by designer John Snyder, winner of a design contest that took place in the spring of 2014 in collaboration with Creative Allies. All the exclusive and limited edition merchandise will be featured in a special advertising campaign with real polo youth players, highlighted in various media outlets throughout the year. Other plans include a dedicated 125th anniversary section on the U.S. Polo Assn. global website with news, updates and special announcements, including polo player profiles, a live event feed and a selling link to the exclusive merchandise. A social media campaign to engage fans, using the hashtag #USPA125, will also be rolled out in January 2015.
