USA Olympian Tasha Schwikert Warren to Perform & Coach at Los Angeles School of Gymnastics' Event

CULVER CITY, CA--(Marketwire - May 29, 2012) - On Sunday, June 3 from 1pm to 3pm, The Los Angeles School of Gymnastics (LASG) will be hosting its annual "Backhand Spring Clinic" with celebrity coach Tasha Schwikert Warren and LASG's head coach Yefim Furman. Located at the prestigious LA School of Gymnastics (8450 Higuera Street in Culver City, Calif.), the public event is open to all ages and levels where athletes will be able to focus on drills, backhand springs and tumbling basics. Competitive girls and boys team levels and cheer groups are also welcome.

During the "Backhand Spring Clinic," gymnasts will be trained by the following elite coaches:

Tasha Schwikert Warren is a 2000 Olympic bronze medalist, a World Gymnastics Championship team gold medalist, a 2001 and 2002 U.S. senior national all-around champion and a 2005 and 2008 NCAA all-around national champion. Schwikert began gymnastics at a young age and rose through the ranks to the elite level in the sport in the mid-90s. Following the Olympics, she became one of the most prominent gymnasts in the United States, winning two team medals at the World Championships and placing fifth in the all-around at the 2001 Worlds. Following her elite career, Schwikert spent four years as a member of the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team.

LASG's internationally acclaimed Coach Yefim Furman is a gymnastics veteran known to many as the "God Father" in the sport. Coach Furman has placed gymnasts on the 1984 and 1992 Olympic games including Olympic Champion Tim Daggett, Chris Waller, Scott Reswick, Chaney Umphrey, and Steve McCain (to name a few). Coach Furman is also a former Olympian who competed at the 1972 Olympic games in Munich claiming the Olympic Silver Medal. He was the head team coach of the women's tour of Olympians.
