USA vs. The World in Millionaire Chess, the World's Richest Tournament!

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA--(Marketwired - Oct. 6, 2015) - Two million dollars in cash will be up for grabs when the 2nd Millionaire Chess Open kicks off at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on October 8th. Over 50 Grandmasters will join approximately 600 players from 52 countries in the event. Ten of the Top 12 players from the United States, including world number two Hikaru Nakamura and defending champion Wesley So, will compete against a star-studded international field. More than 450 amateur players have also thrown their hats into the ring to compete in multiple divisions. One player will have a shot at walking away from the event a million dollars richer.

"Last year, our inaugural tournament was a dream come true," said event co-organizer Maurice Ashley, the first African-American Grandmaster in history. "This year, with more prizes, more players, and more Grandmasters, it's clear that the tournament has taken a giant step forward. With the movie Pawn Sacrifice now in theaters, it's nice to see chess coming back into the limelight once again."
