Userplane Releases Free Webchat Option for Any Website

Multi-User Chat System Featuring Live A/V Communication Now Available at No Cost, for Instant Chat Room Deployments

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 13, 2005 -- Userplane (www.userplane.com), the leading provider of live community software, today released its multi-user, multi-room, audio/video chat application in a free, unlimited use, ad-supported version. The Free Webchat Instant-Install, a major enhancement of Userplane's multi-user chat room system, will include all the A/V and multi-room features of Userplane Webchat with the addition of a single, Userplane-hosted ad space below the app. As with all Instant-Install Userplane Apps, Webchat is offered as a one-line script that can be pasted onto any web page in seconds.

"We have seen such a large demand for our product from online communities, blogs, and interest-focused communities, we wanted a way to provide the service free of charge," said Michael Jones, Userplane Co-Founder & CEO. "Monetization through advertising allows us to offer our product to anyone -- and through the integration of a micro-payment system, we will soon be providing revenue-sharing opportunities to all our clients. In addition, we have had a strong response from advertisers wanting to reach these flourishing niche-targeted communities."

The Userplane Ad Network is a simple, one-step purchase for immediate brand presence across Userplane's wide network of online communities -- social networking and dating websites, blogs, and niche communities. These rapidly growing online communities have large and active user-bases that, relative to regular web experiences, are exposed to Userplane Apps for longer and more focused periods of time. On a per visit basis, Userplane users spend an average of at least 10 minutes in front of the Apps, which enables Userplane to provide rich advertising space -- including streaming audio and video.

Because Userplane Apps are fundamentally user-centric, advertisers can precisely target their audience based on user profiles and demographics. Best represented among Userplane's large and rapidly growing user-base, is the trend-setting and early-adopting 18-35 demographic.

Beyond keyword-targeted site advertising, the Userplane Ad Network targets audiences based on characteristics inherently captured by the applications. Through the network, Userplane will be able to organize Free Webchat orders into a series of more than two dozen categories, ranging from automotive and careers to health, news, shopping and sports. Categories will also include Userplane's mainstay specialties of online dating and social networking.

Userplane Webchat reflects the company's extensive experience in fostering customer interactions within the online dating and social networking communities, and incorporates feedback from corporate clients and millions of users who use the technology for everything from online collaboration to e-learning.

"Webchat Instant-Install is by far the easiest way to add live interaction to any website," said Javier Hall, Userplane Co-Founder & CCO. "While our integrated version of Webchat can be installed via XML with a site's user database, the Instant-Install version allows websites to deploy Flash chat rooms without a previously built database or user log-in system. The more robust Integrated-Install of Userplane will continue to be vital for our most developed online community clients that need full database and site integration. But for much of the growing Internet, free copy and paste chat will fast become a must-have, community-supporting site feature."

Unlike traditional Java- and HTML-based chat solutions, Userplane's Flash-based Webchat offers cross-platform functionality, performing with ease on virtually all operating systems. While Java chat rooms frequently create customer support challenges because of platform inconsistencies, Flash comes pre-installed on Windows XP, and works seamlessly on both Macintosh and Linux platforms. Current studies show that Flash is installed on more than 98 percent of Internet browsers.
