LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Mar 6, 2014) - iStreamPlanet, the leader in live streaming, today announced it is working with content delivery collaborator, AT&T, to power live streaming of the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games. AT&T is a proud partner of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and working with iStreamPlanet, the companies are helping facilitate complete coverage of the Paralympic Winter Games on TeamUSA.org for the very first time. Coverage begins March 7-16 with the Opening Ceremony.
USOC will utilize Aventus, iStreamPlanet's cloud-based live video workflow software-as-a-service (SaaS), to encode and publish four live channels direct from Sochi to TeamUSA.org, powered by AT&T. Connected viewers in the U.S. can access these live channels from their mobile devices, laptops or desktops. The Aventus SaaS eliminates the need for additional hardware infrastructure to accommodate the fluctuating schedule of events during the Paralympic Winter Games.
"We knew we needed an easy-to-use, affordable and scalable solution that would allow us to deliver a full schedule of live events online," said Trevor Miller, Managing Director, Information Technology, USOC. "We're really pleased with how quickly our team was able to launch our channels on Aventus, allowing us to focus on delivering more live content to more devices than ever before."
"We're thrilled to be part of the excitement of delivering the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games live to viewers across the country," said Robin Cole, vice president of marketing for iStreamPlanet. "Using Aventus, USOC is able to deliver hours of high-definition, live video to TeamUSA.org without expensive hardware investments."
TeamUSA.org, powered by AT&T, will have live streaming of the entire Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games available starting March 7 through March 16. Ooyala, a leader in video streaming, analytics and monetization, will deliver device players and analytics to complete the live video workflow with AT&T and iStreamPlanet.
