UST Global Is Recognized as Leader of STEM Efforts Across the Globe

Sajan Pillai Named to 100 CEO Leaders by STEMConnector®

ALISO VIEJO, CA--(Marketwired - June 26, 2013) -  UST Global, an information technology and solution services company for Global 1000 enterprises, announced CEO Sajan Pillai has been recognized by STEMConnector® as one of the 100 CEO Leaders in STEM for promoting education and innovation in technology. Pillai's work and perspective on the future of U.S. competitiveness and the need for a STEM workforce has been profiled in an unprecedented publication produced by STEMConnector®.

CEO Sajan Pillai also presented UST Global's contributions to the report, "EDTech: Revolution in Education 2013" at the U.S. News STEM Solutions 2013 conference to more than 2,000 attendees and 100 CEO leader honorees. Pillai was among a select group of distinguished CEOs who spoke at the event, along with Michael Araten, CEO of K'Nex and Seth Harris, the 11th United States Deputy Secretary of Labor and acting Secretary of Labor. An invaluable resource, EdTech: Revolution in Education is the latest and most comprehensive report showing how America can maintain its position as the innovation leader of the world.

UST Global believes STEM education and workforce development are critical to America's future, stating that 15 out of 20 high growth careers of this decade require significant STEM skills. According to the EDTech: Revolution in Education 2013 report, however, less than one third of the population has any exposure to core STEM education. UST Global has active initiatives with Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Greece and the UK to provide technology training to thousands of their citizens. For example, UST is currently training 30,000 youths expected to graduate with a degree in information technology. UST Global is also exploring the application of technology-driven delivery of training for U.S. veterans.

Speaking at the conference, UST Global CEO Sajan Pillai said, "In this technology-driven global business environment, there is a tremendous need for talent. The challenge we have right now is the limited availability of talent ready to leverage this opportunity. As business leaders, we expect to find highly motivated, skilled individuals who are able to drive business innovation and revenue. But, we often find that this is not the case."

He continued, "As a market leader, excelling in the training and development of talent is expected from us. We take this responsibility seriously. At UST Global, we have taken on the task of training local talent in countries that have a high population and limited job opportunities. We are very proud of our success in Mexico and look forward to replicating this across the globe. Private enterprises have to think beyond immediate gains and look at training and development as a long term investment in our community."

UST Global was born out of a need for talent arbitrage, and the company realizes the challenge of finding employable talent. The EDTech: Revolution in Education 2013 report addresses this problem. UST Global is a sponsor of this publication based on its contributions to advance innovations in education to close the gap between STEM skill demand and human capital resources. This report seeks to close that gap by exploring educational technology resources and strategies from kindergarten to higher education to lifelong learning opportunities. Information technology will become a key ingredient for STEM progress.
